“Anveshan 2021-22 : Student Research Convention” was
hosted by AMET University, Chennai jointly with Association of Indian
Universities (AIU), New Delhi on 27-28th March, 2022at Shri
Janaki Raman Auditorium, AMET University.
It is a proud moment for AMET University to host the National Level Convention jointly with Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The mega event will have participation of about 105 best individual or group projects from 5 zones i.e. East, West, North, South and Central (15 best projects from each zone covering 3 best projects from each of aforementioned fields). More than 42 educational universities are participating in the event from the different parts of the states.
On 27th March, 2022, The National Level mega event “Anveshan – Student Research Convention” started off with Dr.M.Jayaprakashvel, Registrar who rendered the welcome address,

Guest for the event Mr. M Mahesh Kumar, Deputy Mayor, Greater Chennai Corporation
who delivered his address in which, he hailed about AMET University being the
best University for Maritime Educational so requested the management for their
further expansion into the southern regions of Tamil Nadu and across the
country. He conveyed his best wishes to all the participants and research
scholars who had participated in the event. Followed by which a book on
“Addressing the Needs of Differently-abled Persons in Higher Education
Institutions- Strategies for Implementations” published by the Association of
Indian Universities was released by the honorable Mayor. The event continued
where, Dr.J.Ramachandran, Chancellor of AMET University inaugurated and delivered his address where
he mentioned about the successful history and merits of AMET UNIVERSITY followingwhich,
he thanked Secretary General, AIU Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal for giving the
opportunity to host the National Student Research Convention at AMET University,
he said “ This event brings the innovation of young minds from all over the country under the same
platform, each researchers can contribute their ideas and have valuable
insights.” Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU rendered her
special address in which she mentioned that she was overwhelmed to see a lot of
students from various parts of the country. She stated that the country has to
invest more towards research convention and research policies, Similarly, a
great involvement from the side of students is required as India has the
largest student population that it could even become the research hub. Dr.Rajesh
Ramachandran, Pro Chancellor, AMET University felicitated the gathering and
quoted “Research is about creating new knowledge through innovation”. Col.Dr.G.Thiruvasgam,
President, Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Vice Chancellor, AMET
University deliver the presidential address. With his wise knowledge he educated
the audience that the “Objective of a research should be socially relevant and
its output must be given back to the public”. Also, stated that industrial
collaboration will help in commercializing the students research projects
thereby accelerating scientific research and innovation and their application
towards community development. Dr.Amarendra Pani, Joint Director and Head
Research of Association of Indian Universities delivered the theme address
where he stated that “ to contextualize the quality of research, two concepts
are to be followed, the first would be Epistemology which means the theory of
knowledge, especially with regards to its methods, validity, and scope and the
distinction between justified belief and opinion. Secondly Metaphysics, the
nature of ultimate reality”. Dr.R.Srinivasan, Member Secretary, The Tamilnadu
State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) emphasized that the
concentration on Interdisciplinary Activities during the development of a
research or project is to be focused upon. He also shared exclusive information
that TNSCST has selected AMET University to be one of the Patent Information
Center across the country. Finally, the inaugural function ended with a vote of
