Schedule reliability continues to improve in August 2022

Sea-Intelligence has published issue 133 of the Global Liner Performance (GLP) report, with schedule reliability figures up to and including August 2022. As the report itself is quite comprehensive and covers schedule reliability across 34 different trade lanes and 60+ carriers, this press release will only cover the global highlights from the full report, it said.

It elaborated:

“Global schedule reliability continues to trend upwards, recording the largest M/M increase in 2022 of 5.8 percentage points, and reaching 46.2% in August. The average delay for LATE vessel arrivals has been dropping sharply so far this year, tapering off a little in the past few months. In August 2022, average delay improved sharply once again, dropping by -0.57 days M/M to 5.86 days. This is now the first time that average delay has dropped below the 6-day mark since April 2021.

“With schedule reliability of 53.0%, Maersk was the most reliable carrier in August 2022, followed by CMA CGM with 46.0%. Another 6 carriers recorded schedule reliability of over 40%, 5 recorded schedule reliability of 30%-40%... In August 2022, once again, a lot of the carriers were very close to each other in terms of schedule reliability, with 10 carriers within 7 percentage points of each other. 12 of the top-14 carriers recorded a M/M improvement, while all 14 recorded a Y/Y improvement, with 11 of those carriers recording double-digit improvements, and 3 recording improvements of over 20 percentage points.”
