JSW Jaigarh Port Ltd has announced a penalty on port users for non-reporting of facts that could hamper safe navigation or stay within the port, with immediate effect, it is learnt.
This comes after a number of ships were observed failing to report technical defects which could lead to unsafe conditions during movement.
The penalty for non-reporting is $500 per incident.
Berthing/unberthing will be subject to the
discretion of the port. Any additional resources required for the safe movement
of such vessels will be deployed at the vessel’s cost, said a communique.
