The new Chipolbrok vessel MV Herbert with the
distinction of being one of the largest multipurpose heavy lift ships in the
world, made its maiden call at Mumbai Port on March 17, 2023.
Senior officials from Chipolbrok,
Gdynia Mr Janusz Kuzmicki & Capt Han Rui travelled to Mumbai to
host a small get-together organized onboard the vessel to mark the
occasion, alongwith Vessel Master & crew......Which saw participation from
trade invitees, customers from project cargo segment & logistics service
providers, senior Mumbai Port officials, as well as representatives from
Samsara Shipping Private Limited, Chipolbrok’s General Agent in
India.
The Master
of the vessel- Capt Mordacz Marcin Kamil was honoured by Capt Manish
Verma,Vice President, Samsara Shipping Private Limited with a momento.
The
62,000-DWT geared vessel, which is less than a year old, has a carrying
capacity of about 72,000 Cu.M. , well equipped with four cranes ( 2 x 150
mt + 2 x 80 mt) with maximum lifting capacity upto 300 Metric Tons . It came to
Mumbai on its maiden voyage directly from Antwerp and Hamburg and unloaded a
significant volume of steel and project cargo.
The vessel
sailed out on March 19th towards Qatar from where she will head to Turkey
carrying a full load of house-construction modules for those impacted by the
recent devastating earthquake.

Gdynia, gave a brief address bringing out the features of the vessel and its
capability. He thanked the trade for its support to Chipolbrok’s services
connecting India and also thanked Mumbai Port officials & their Shipping
Agent Samsara Shipping, for the constant support extended to Chipolbrok
and Mumbai Port officials too assured their continued support to Chipolbrok’s
services.
