Kandla Port which has emerged as the largest among the
Public sector ports in handling conventional cargo in the last few years, had a
high level visitor to the Port when the Shipping secretary Sudhansh Pant
visited the operational area of the port authority last week.
Mr Pant who took
over as Shipping Secretary recently made a bee line to the Port to review the
ongoing infra structure projects in the port being implemented on a priority
basis
He
inspected various ongoing DPA projects and inaugurated the Coal Dust
Suppression Sprinkling System in a 34 hectare yard at Kandla. At the review
meeting, Mr S. K. Mehta, Chairman, DPA, briefed him about the performance and
development works of the port. The Secretary expressed happiness and
satisfaction with the various initiatives of the port and appreciated the
management for the same, said a release.
Addressing
a stakeholders’ meet, he lauded the role
of the Port users in it retaining the No. 1 position among the Major Ports.
He called on all concerned to work unitedly so that the port maintains its
position in the future as well. A large number of stakeholders and port users
were present, as per a release.
