The state-owned power behemoth, NTPC, has initiated work for a hydrogen hub in Andhra Pradesh to set up manufacturing facilities for equipment,
production, and export of green hydrogen and green ammonia.
“NTPC is entering into
hydrogen and energy storage solutions in a big way… Recently, work for a hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka, Andhra
Pradesh was initiated. Also, a storage tender has been opened;’ said Jaikumar
Srinivasan, director – finance, NTPC, at its Q4 FY23 earnings conference call.
A non-binding MoU has been
signed with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for development of a hydrogen hub
near Visakhapatnam. The project will involve
setting up of manufacturing facilities for hydrogen related equipment,
production, and export of green hydrogen, green ammonia.
“NTPC has an operational renewable energy capacity of
32,000 MW and total RE capacity in the pipeline has exceeded 20,000 MW with
various agreements in place,” said Mr Srinivasan according to media reports
