This understanding
envisages the gradual build-up of liquid volumes of up to 2 million ton to be
handled at the shallow water berth. JNP presently attracts 6.3 million ton of
liquid cargo comprising of LPG, petroleum products, chemicals, edible oils,
acids etc.
The shallow water berth is part of Nhava Sheva
Distribution Terminal (NSDT), the latest PPP venture of the J M Baxi Group. Located at the
state-owned Jawaharlal Nehru Port, Nhava Sheva, NSDT is a multipurpose clean
cargo terminal, capable of handling container, cement, general cargo, liquid
vessels, break bulk, dry bulk etc. The shallow water berth is already equipped
with Ganesh Benzoplast’s pipelines.
