China, Vietnam and India are major producers and Exporters of litchi, according to Society for Horticultural Sciences. China is in top rank followed by Vietnam and India. Vietnam is the second largest litchi exporting country even though it has a smaller output compared to China and India. United States, Canada and countries in the EU are major importers of litchis from different countries with China supplying around 80 per cent of total demand.

Bangladesh exporters shipped 112 tons of the fruit during the first six months of 2023, “We expect the volume of litchi export will cross last fiscal year’s mark. A single Orchard in Bangladesh has exported 300 kilograms of Litchi for the first time though the country has been exporting the citrus fruit for the past twenty years.
