CMA CGM has announced the resumption of its fortnightly
Bijagos Shuttle service for the upcoming season of cashew exports from Bissau,
Guinea-Bissau to India and Vietnam.
Both India and Vietnam import raw
cashew from West African countries, process them and then export. In India most of the
processing centers are situated in Kerala and South Tamil Nadu coasts. The
cashew season starts in June and ends by November every year
The fortnightly service will help the
industry to source the raw cashew from North Africa without any logistical
issues
The Salient features of the service are Bijagos Shuttle
service, fully operated by CMA CGM, deploys two vessels of 1,700 TEUs
Bissau port is served on fortnightly
frequency from mid-June 2023 to the end of the cashew season. First vessel was m/v LION voy.

A substantial stock of 40 foot containers is available in
Bissau port and so the shippers do not have to face the problem about their
availability like in other ports.
