The OCBA was founded as a united body
comprising all the Customs Brokers working in the sea ports of Gopalpur,
Paradip and Dhamra, Inland Container Depots (ICDs) of Jajpur, Kalinganagar and
Jharsuguda, and Bhubaneswar International Airport.
As a crucial link between the Customs department and
importers and exporters, Customs Brokers play a pivotal role in facilitating
trade processes. The primary objective
of this association is to streamline and smoothen the import and export
procedures in the state, with particular focus on promoting exports from
Odisha. Such efforts are aimed at fostering employment opportunities and
driving economic growth dynamics within the region, stressed a release.
Among those present on the occasion include Santosh Kumar
Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade, Mr Shankar Shinde, Chairman of
International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations and Chairman of FFFAI,
MrSaswat Mishra, Principal Secretary, MSME Department, Government of Odisha and
Mr Madhab Chandra Mishra, , Commissioner of Customs, Bhubaneswar.
The gathering of invitees was from different trade bodies
and organisations connected with export-import trade in the state. The guests
who addressed the gathering primarily focused on the goal of promoting
efficient import and export processes and fostering economic growth in Odisha.
They also appreciated OCBA for its sincere efforts in
working towards this goal.
