FIEO jointly with MSME Department, Govt of Tamil Nadu
and FaMe TN organized a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet on 7th and
8th January 2024. The programme has been organized along with
Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet held at Chennai on same days.
During the Concluding Session of the event held on 8th January
2024 with Thiru T M Anbarasan, Hon’ble Minister of MSME, Govt of Tamil Nadu
appreciated FIEO and MSME department for conclusion of the successful RBSM.
While discussing the outcome of the two days event Hon’ble Minister said that
38 buyers from 22 countries across the globe participated. The session
generated business of USD 50.70 crores. The two days One-to-One Session was
participated by 368 MSMEs from Tamil Nadu, amongst which 73 were first-time
exporters. The Hon’ble Minister also explained on the various infrastructure
projects being executed by Tamil Nadu Govt for making exports competitive in the
international market.
Mr Israr Ahmed, President FIEO while welcoming the delegates and
participants during the concluding session said that exports from Tamil Nadu in
the year 2022-23 was USD 40.68 Billion with 9% share in India’s export compared
to USD 35.19 Billion exported during 2021-22 with 8.3% share in national
exports. He shared experience of FIEO in organising previous successful B2Bs
across India and said that this has helped FIEO to conclude a very successful
B2B at Chennai.
Ms Archana Patnaik, IAS, Secretary to Govt, MSME Department in her
address said that Tamil Nadu has largest number of MSME in India and various
proactive steps are taken by the Department helping MSMEs in overcoming many of
the challenges faced during current scenario and doing better compared to other
States in India.
The session was also participated by Ms Grace Lalrindiki Pachuau,
IAS, Additional Commissioner of Industries, FaMe TN and Ms Madhumati, IAS,
Managing Director, SIDCO.
Mr K Unnikrishnan, Jt Director General, FIEO SR did the summing up
and delivered the Vote of Thanks.
