Coast Guard Region (East) organized visit of school
children to Coast Guard ships at Chennai on January 19 and 20, as part of a
series of activities to commemorate the
raising Day of the force. The purpose of the visit was to
provide exposure to young students on the role of Indian Coast Guard and
motivate them to Join the Armed Forces.
The students were taken around and
explained about various aspects of the ship. The students were thrilled to
visit the mighty white ships and learn about their capabilities.
Indian Coast Guard, the Maritime Armed Force of the Union
will be celebrating its 48th raising day on February 01. ICG was established by
the Coast Guard Act, 1978 on February 01, 1977.
