This launch, scheduled at Transport Bhawan in New
Delhi, signifies a significant leap toward a more modern and efficient maritime
landscape in India.
The MSW
module facilitates the electronic submission, processing, and exchange of
maritime-related information and documents among government authorities, port
operators, and stakeholders in international maritime trade. Successfully tested with
officials from the Directorate General of Shipping, shipping agents, trade
associations, and major port officials, it promises enhanced efficiency.
Meanwhile, the MMD module on Sagar Setu (NLP-M) is a
digital platform providing vessel detention and release status information. It
aims to streamline the sharing of vessel survey information by the Mercantile
Maritime Department on the Sagar Setu platform.
These modules represent key components of the Ministry
of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways’ broader digital initiatives, propelling the
maritime sector into the future.
