Container
terminal operator DP World, which operates four terminals across the country,
has reached an “in-principle” four-year agreement with the waterfront union in
a deal that was facilitated by the country’s Fair Work Commission. The deal was yet to be endorsed by union
members.
The
proposed deal would include annual pay rises of 8%, 7%, 4% and 4.5% for 1,800
dockworkers, as well as a sign-on bonus of A$2,000 ($1,319).
