Vegetable prices hit six-month low in Sri Lanka
27 Feb marked a significant decline in vegetable prices at the Dambulla Special Economic Centre, reaching a six-month low. Notably, carrots were wholesaled at Rs.310 per kilo, while red onions were priced at Rs.230 per kilo.

Vegetable prices hit six-month low in Sri Lanka

White onions saw a reduction to Rs.530 per kilo. Additionally, cabbage prices dropped to Rs.300 per kilo, brinjal to Rs.135, leeks to Rs.190, tomatoes to Rs.420, radish to Rs.50, cucumber to Rs.100, and imported potatoes to Rs.110 per kilo.

Pumpkins, ash plantains, and polos were also among the vegetables experiencing significant price reductions, selling at Rs.200, Rs.170, and Rs.80 per kilo respectively.

 This trend of declining prices was observed across several vegetable categories, as reported by the Dambulla Special Economic Centre.
