Indian Railways (IR) has approved the Adipur-Bhuj
Rail Line Doubling Project. The project has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs
4.93 billion.
It will handle an additional 12 Million Tonnes Per
Annum (MTPA) of freight traffic along with operation of two additional
passenger trains in each direction per day.
The project involves doubling of a 49 km long
railway line from Adipur to Bhuj in Gujarat under the Western Railway (WR)
zone. The current line capacity utilisation of the section is likely to
increase from the present level to 123 per cent by 2029-30.
