Chennai Port raises the bar in Cargo handling

Chennai Port has achieved a remarkable milestone by handling a record throughput of 51.68 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) on 11th March 2025, 20 days ahead of last year, surpassing the previous financial year's total cargo tonnage of 51.00 MMT handled during 2023-24.

Shri Sunil Paliwal. IAS., Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, expressed his sincere appreciation for the collective efforts that made this achievement possible. He acknowledged the vital contributions of Vessel Operators. Steamer Agents, Terminal Operators, Stakeholders, and Port Officials whose dedication and efficiency have driven this success.

This achievement is the result of coordinated hard work rendered by all Stakeholders in the EXIM trade operations in Chennai Port and hoped that the trend will continue in the upcoming Financial Year also
