The company’s enhanced infrastructure includes 391
small-format delivery hubs and a newly launched grocery fulfilment centre in
Agartala, capable of handling 5,000 daily orders. In Guwahati, Flipkart has
strengthened its quick commerce arm, Flipkart Minutes, with nine
micro-fulfilment centres ensuring faster deliveries.
In preparation for
the upcoming festive rush, Flipkart has created around 2.2 lakh seasonal jobs
in warehousing, logistics, and last-mile delivery, with an emphasis on
inclusive hiring practices and skill development initiatives.
Highlighting the significance of the expansion, Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Flipkart Group, said the company’s deeper presence in the Northeast will not only provide speed and convenience to customers but also generate new livelihood opportunities and strengthen regional entrepreneurship.
The Northeast
remains a critical growth market, contributing nearly 30% of Flipkart Reset’s
business through its network of 2,000 distributors and retailers participating
in mobile exchange and trade-in programs. Supporting its long-term
sustainability goals, Flipkart has also pledged to shift to 100% electric
vehicles for last-mile delivery by 2030.
