Speaking at the
inauguration of the Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav during Advantage Vidarbha 2026,
Adani said the region is successfully transforming its historical legacy into a
modern hub of industry, innovation and learning.
“With the right
infrastructure, leadership and partnerships, Vidarbha can once again become a
centre of commerce, knowledge and national growth. The momentum we see today is
no accident—it is the outcome of sustained vision and execution,” he said.
A cornerstone of
this transformation is a proposed ₹70,000-crore integrated coal gasification
and downstream derivatives complex at Linga, expected to generate nearly 30,000
direct jobs. Adani said the project would position Nagpur as a global hub for
clean energy technologies while strengthening India’s energy self-reliance for
critical industries.
Vidarbha’s power infrastructure has also been
significantly strengthened with the 3,300 MW supercritical power plant at
Tiroda and the revival of the 600 MW Butibori power plant in 2025. Combined
with renewable energy assets, these facilities provide 6,600 MW of reliable
power to Maharashtra. “This dependable electricity is the backbone supporting
industries, cities and the digital economy,” Adani noted.
Logistics and aviation
are emerging as additional growth engines. The acquisition of a 30-acre
aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at MIHAN, equipped
with 15 aircraft bays and international certifications, is positioning Nagpur
as a global MRO destination. Complementing this is a 75-acre Inland Container
Depot at Borkhedi and the management of 24 border check posts across
Maharashtra, initiatives aimed at lowering freight costs and enhancing
competitiveness for regional businesses.
Adani credited the momentum
to strong leadership at both the Centre and the State. He acknowledged Prime
Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on inclusive development, Union Minister
Nitin Gadkari’s role in transforming connectivity, and Deputy Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis’s advocacy for balanced regional growth.
Sustainability
remains central to the group’s operations, with the Gondkari underground mine
highlighted as a model for responsible mining through zero displacement and
zero effluent discharge.
Community development initiatives led by the Adani
Foundation in Nagpur and Gondia continue to focus on healthcare, education and
women’s empowerment. “Our commitment to
Vidarbha is generational. We are here to build enduring prosperity,” Adani
concluded.
