CONCOR Signs MoU with Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd (VISL) to Explore Strategic Logistics Collaboration
Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) and Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd. (VISL), a Government of Kerala undertaking, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 23 February 2026 at Thiruvananthapuram for the development of a Container Freight Station (CFS) in the vicinity of Vizhinjam International Seaport, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

CONCOR Signs MoU with Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd (VISL) to Explore Strategic Logistics Collaboration

Under the said MoU, the land for development of above mentioned CFS will be provided by VISL on mutually agreed terms and both organisations intend to jointly work on developing the said CFS which is expected to have facilities such as Customs-bonded area, warehouse, Container handling and storage yards, Import–export cargo handling facilities, Weighbridges, rail siding and other such related facilities for seamless end to end services to the customers.      This MoU was signed in the presence of Pinarayi Vijayan Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, V N Vasavan Hon’ble Minister for Cooperation and Ports, Govt of Kerala, Kowsigan (IAS) Secretary -Shipping & Ports Govt of Kerala, Mr. Sanjay Swarup IRTS CMD/CONCOR and Ms G Gayatri IRTS- Area Head (South) CONCOR. The signatories for this MoU were Mr. A. Vijuvin IRTS, Cluster Head Chennai (on behalf of CONCOR) and Ms Divya Iyer IAS -MD VISL (on behalf of VISL).

Subsequent to the signing of this MoU, both the parties shall enter into an agreement to frame detailed terms and conditions of mutual collaboration.

The collaboration reflects the shared vision of strengthening multimodal logistics capabilities and improving cargo handling efficiencies at Vizhinjam International Seaport, a key upcoming deep-water transshipment hub envisioned as a gateway for global maritime trade. The partnership is expected to support the development of an integrated logistics ecosystem contributing to regional and national economic growth.

This strategic collaboration further reinforces CONCOR’s commitment to providing seamless, rail-led multimodal logistics solutions and expanding logistics infrastructure in line with the evolving needs of India’s EXIM trade.
