Debuting in Miami in
late March, Norwegian Luna will be the newest ship to sail
year-round Caribbean itineraries and visit NCL’s resort-style destinations,
Like her sister
ship, Norwegian Aqua, delivered by Fincantieri in 2025 and
featuring a gross tonnage of 156,000, an overall length of 321 meters, and over
3,550 berths, Norwegian Luna is 10% larger than the first two
Prima Class vessels, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.\
The ship offers guests generous open spaces, refined design elements, and an
array of unmatched experiences, including the Aqua Slidecoaster, the
NCL-exclusive hybrid between a rollercoaster and waterslide; the Glow Court, an
innovative high-tech digital sports complex featuring an interactive LED floor;
the Luna Midway, an outdoor amusement‑park‑style area featuring carnival‑inspired
games, as well as the Moon Climber, a multi‑level obstacle course created for
the whole family. Like her predecessors, Norwegian Luna features
Ocean Boulevard, the most expansive 360-degree outdoor promenade ever built.
Delivery of the new ship comes just a few weeks
after the announcement of a major agreement signed between Fincantieri and
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. for the construction of three next-generation cruise ships. The agreement includes one vessel for Norwegian
Cruise Line, in addition to the four ships already covered by the maxi-order
announced in February 2025. The vessels in this new class of ships are
scheduled to be delivered between 2030 and 2037. .
”We are thrilled to
welcome Norwegian Luna to our fleet and to welcome our first
guests aboard next week,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise
Line. “As our newest
ship, Norwegian Luna is a powerful reflection of NCL’s ‘It’s
Different Out Here’ brand ethos. She delivers freedom, flexibility and
thoughtfully curated experiences, allowing guests to enjoy their vacation
exactly how they want, with ease. This ship represents the continued evolution
of our vision and the incredible work behind an award-winning class of ships.
We are deeply appreciative of the world-class architects and designers, as well
as our talented partners at Fincantieri who brought Norwegian Luna to life. We’re proud to continue this strong
partnership as we look ahead to building more exceptional NCL vessels together
over the next decade.”
