The license allows the
airport to operate under the public use category and support all-weather
operations.
The airport features a
3,900 m × 45 m runway oriented 10/28, equipped with an instrument landing
system (ILS) and an aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) system, enabling
round-the-clock flight operations. It also includes aircraft parking stands for
24 Code C and two Code D/F aircraft. With aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF)
category 9 facilities, the airport can accommodate wide-body aircraft such as
the Boeing 777-300ER.
The airport is being developed in four phases and
would also feature a multimodal cargo hub. In its first phase, the airport will
have a terminal and a single runway, with a capacity to handle about 12 million
passengers per annum (mppa), eventually expanding to a capacity of 70 mppa.
