Maritime Conclave 2026 – “Sailing to Prosperity”

The Maritime Conclave 2026 – “Sailing to Prosperity” was held at Hotel Taj Skyline, Ahmedabad, bringing together prominent stakeholders from the maritime sector. The Conclave was graced by the Hon’ble Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal Ji and Shri Gaurav Dayal, Chairman, JNPA. Shri Rahul Modi, newly appointed Chairman of the Indian Maritime Centre (IMC) was part of opening session.

On 26th Sept, the first panel discussion on “Ship Recycling” was chaired by Capt. Tushar Pradhan, CEO, Indian Maritime Centre. The session focused on the challenges and opportunities in the ship recycling sector, with discussions on Best recycling practices, recycled steel to feed infrastructure and construction, auto industry, sustainable practices, environmental compliance, safety standards and the need for greater industry collaboration.

The deliberations highlighted the importance of strengthening India’s ship recycling sector through sustainable, safe and internationally aligned practices w.r.t Hong Kong Convention & EU-SRR , enhancing its contribution to the growth of the Indian maritime industry.
