NUSI extends facilities at NUSI Holiday Homes Lonavala to focus on well-being of Seafarers

NUSI Holiday Homes and Sanatorium at Valvan, Lonavala, is often visited by thousands of seafarers and their families. This facility provides a much-needed opportunity for relaxation and quality time together after extended periods at sea. The resort features a variety of amenities and activities designed to help seafarers unwind and bond with their loved ones, ensuring that every family member finds something enjoyable, from comfortable accommodations to diverse recreational options.

With the commitment to enhancing, NUSI added the NUSI Indoor Sports Complex last year, which includes billiards, table tennis, carom, chess, and more. This facility was established with a focus on the mental well-being of seafarers.

In response to numerous requests for upgraded accommodations, NUSI have renovated the rooms to align with top hotel standards, providing greater comfort and luxury.

The refurbished building was officially inaugurated on 27^th July, 2024, by the General Secretary-cum-Treasurer, Shri Milind Kandalgaonkar, in the presence of Shri Louis Gomes, Vice President; Shri Suresh Solanki, Organising Secretary; Shri Maksood Khan, Assistant Secretary; and Shri Salim Zagade, Assistant Secretary. These enhancements include modern furnishings, upgraded amenities, and improved room service, ensuring a more pleasant and relaxing stay for seafarers and their families.

Additionally, NUSI is considering further enriching the resort’s recreational offerings by introducing a swimming pool, which would provide a fun and relaxing activity for both seafarers and their families. The facilities at NUSI Holiday Homes and Sanatorium are also available to officers and their families.
