Georgia Ports sets CEO succession plan

He will report to the current President and CEO, Griff Lynch, during the 18-month transition period.

Price brings more than 30 years of port and terminal leadership experience. He currently serves as President of Gateway Terminals in Savannah and previously held senior roles, including Chief Operating Officer at Virginia International Terminals.

Governor Brian Kemp said: “Georgia’s ports have been an instrumental driver of economic growth statewide, with Griff Lynch providing the leadership and vision to reach new heights in recent years. As the Georgia Ports Authority makes these long-term preparations for a smooth transition late next year, we know Kevin will carry on that approach to delivering for all hardworking Georgians.”

Kevin Price stated: “Georgia Ports’ long-term approach with its employees, customers, business partners and infrastructure investments are competitive differentiators. I look forward to working closely with Griff, the Board of Directors and the rest of the Georgia Ports employees to keep building their future momentum and winning trajectory.”

Griff Lynch, President and CEO of Georgia Ports Authority, added: “I am very excited to have Kevin join our team. This is a big win for the Georgia Ports and only makes us stronger.

“He is a proven industry executive whose extensive terminal operations expertise, in-depth knowledge and strong working relationships in Savannah and beyond make him a natural choice for the role. Kevin and I will ensure a seamless transition over the next 18 months.”

In January, construction on the Blue Ridge Connector reached 95 per cent completion, with Georgia Ports Authority set to open the new inland rail terminal later this year.
