On Wednesday, (27 May) a Japanese delegation visited
DPA Kandla and held an insightful interaction meeting chaired by DPA Chairman
and IRSME officer Sushil Kumar Singh. The meeting was attended by senior
officials of DPA along with representatives from Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
The discussions
focused on port-led development, infrastructure collaboration, technological
innovation and future opportunities in the maritime sector, reflecting growing
international interest in India’s maritime and logistics ecosystem. Earlier, a German delegation also visited
Deendayal Port Authority and participated in the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha
organised at the Port Township in Gopalpuri, Gandhidham, on the occasion of
Purushottam Maas. The spiritual gathering, organised by Gopalpuri Saarvajanik
Mitra Mandal, showcased India’s cultural heritage and strengthened cultural
ties and global friendships through shared values and traditions. The delegation witnessed the rich spiritual and cultural traditions of
India, highlighting the warm hospitality extended by the port community. Meanwhile, in a major step towards
sustainable maritime operations, Deendayal Port Authority on Tuesday signed a
landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GH2 Solar Limited for
conducting a “Joint Feasibility Study & Strategic Roadmap” for the export
of Liquid Green Hydrogen from Kandla Port.
The initiative aims to establish
a strategic framework for green energy logistics and position DPA Kandla as a
future hub for green hydrogen exports.
In a statement shared on X, DPA said the agreement marks “a significant
stride towards positioning DPA Kandla as India’s Green Hydrogen Hub and
advancing sustainable, future-ready maritime operations.” The development underlines Deendayal Port
Authority’s expanding role in international collaboration, clean energy
initiatives and next-generation maritime infrastructure.
