Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairperson, Cochin Port Authority, hoisted the
National Flag and received the Guard of Honour presented by the CISF
contingent. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Angamuthu highlighted Cochin Port’s
nearly 98 years of service and its continued growth and achievement of new
milestones. He congratulated the entire Cochin Port family for achieving its
highest-ever cargo volume of 38.06 million tonnes (MMT) and crossing the ₹1,000
crore mark in financial turnover. Describing the achievements as the result of
a collective effort, the Chairperson appreciated the hard work and
contributions of employees, CISF personnel and other stakeholders who have
supported the Port’s growth. Looking
ahead, Cochin Port Authority has set an ambitious target of crossing 40 MMT of
cargo during the current year and achieving 50 MMT or more within the next four
to five years. The Port is also targeting a financial turnover of ₹1,500–2,000
crore. Dr. Angamuthuemphasised that the development of Cochin Port would be
pursued in harmony with the aspirations of the people of Kochi, ensuring that
the Port, the city and the State grow and benefit together. The celebrations were attended by Shri
Satish Honnakkatte, Deputy Chairperson; Shri T. Prabhu, IOFS, Chief Vigilance
Officer; Shri Joydeep Ghosh Dastidar, Secretary; Shri B. Bhagyanath,
FA&CAO; Capt. T. M. Kumar, Deputy Conservator; Capt. HimanshuShekhar,
Traffic Manager; Col. Jassar SM, Chief Engineer; Shri P. Muniasamy, CME (i/c);
Dr. Jayalekshmi R. Kurup, CMO (i/c); Shri Siddharth Paul, Deputy Commandant,
CISF-CoPA Unit; along with senior officers, employees, CISF personnel and their
family members.The programme featured vibrant cultural performances by family
members of Cochin Port Authority employees and CISF personnel. A reflex
shooting demonstration by the CISF-Cochin Port Unit was also organised, adding
excitement and patriotic spirit to the celebrations. The Chairperson and other dignitaries distributed
prizes to the children who participated in the cultural programmes.
The celebrations concluded on a festive and patriotic note, with the
participation of the Port community and their families reflecting the enduring
spirit of unity, service and national pride.
