80th Independence Day Celebrations at Chennai Port
Chennai Port Authority celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sachin S. Kurve, Chairperson of Chennai Port Authority and Chairman of Kamarajar Port Limited extended Independence Day greetings and paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices continue to inspire the nation's journey towards a stronger and self-reliant India.
During the event, Chairperson encouraged Presenting Laptops & Cash awards to the toppers of 10th & 12th Classes of ChPDET School, the Chairperson lauded the recent academic achievements by the institution, encouraging the teachers and students to follow a continuous path of improvement.
The Chairperson thanked the Port's officers, employees, terminal operators, Customs, railways, shipping lines, logistics partners and the wider trade community for their contribution to the year's achievements,
The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Smt. Anugraha P., IAS, Chief Vigilance Officer, Chennai Port Authority. The Board members, Heads of the Departments, Trade Union Leaders, Port Users, Officers & Staff of Chennai Port Authority and Teachers & Students of Chennai Port School also participated in the celebrations, leading the event to a grand success.
