The yard did not provide a breakdown of
the numbers of each type of vessels ordered in the contracts worth close to $1
billion.
As one of a limited number of Chinese
shipyards with verified VLAC construction capabilities, Hengli Heavy Industry
has delivered full‑chain breakthroughs in independent
research‑and‑development and final‑assembly
manufacturing for the VLAC. In July
2026, Dynacom placed its maiden VLAC order with Hengli Heavy Industry, marking
the shipowner’s entry into the ammonia‑gas‑carrier market. Dynacom was one international shipowners’ to
place orders at Hengli Heavy Industry. Their partnership first began with bulk‑carrier
projects back in 2023, and has since expanded across multiple vessel categories
including VLACs, VLCCs, Suezmax and Kamsarmax tankers, with total new‑building
orders exceeding 50 units to date.
To date, Dynacom has taken delivery of two VLCCs, two tankers and 13
Kamsarmax bulk carriers from Hengli Heavy Industry. Hengli Heavy Industry currently holds the
world’s largest VLAC orderbook among single shipyards, with its order backlog
stretching to 2030.
