Chennai Port's CSR Initiatives for 2026-27; MoU signed for 15 Projects

Chennai Port Authority (ChPA), under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with beneficiary organisations for implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects during the Financial Year 2026–27. The MoU signing ceremony and presentation of CSR grant cheques were held in the presence of Shri Sachin S. Kurve, IAS, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority; Shri S. Viswanathan, Deputy Chairperson; Ms. Anugraha P., IAS; and all the Heads of Departments of Chennai Port Authority.

Rs.5,59,30,000 were allocated for  15  such CSR Projects . Apart from the above, an amount of . 2,46,75,000/-       has been allocated to National Maritime Complex  and . 16,45,000/-   has been earmarked for Monitoring of activities. The total allocation for CSR for the year 2026-27 is Rs.8,22,50,000/-

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sachin S. Kurve, IAS, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, reaffirmed the Port's commitment to implementing impactful CSR initiatives that contribute to the well-being of society.  Further, Chairperson expressed that CSR is not a  mere obligation but our responsibility towards creating an inclusive society and move a step forward towards achieving sustainable development goals. The projects span education, healthcare, road safety, sports, livelihood enhancement, maritime skill development, environmental sustainability and social inclusion.

         Deputy Chairperson in his address expressed that CSR is not just about providing financial assistance, it is about creating opportunity, empowering community and building partnerships that bring about sustainable meaningful change.

 Chennai Port Authority remains committed to supporting such projects that create lasting social impact and contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
