The Hydraulic Trailer Owners Association (HTOA), in collaboration with the CII Institute of Logistics, has successfully launched the inaugural batch of the Online Project Cargo Logistics Professional (PCL Pro) Certificate Programme, a six-month online certification course designed for professionals in the project cargo and heavy-lift logistics sector.
Addressing the participants, Shri Zarksis Parabia, Chairman of HTOA, emphasized the growing need for structured training programmes to develop a pool of skilled professionals in the specialized field of project logistics. He highlighted the critical role of industry-focused capacity building in equipping professionals with the knowledge and expertise required to manage increasingly complex logistics operations.
Shri H.S. Acharya, Chairman of the HTOA IT & Training Committee, provided an overview of the course structure and curriculum, noting that the programme content had been carefully designed to align with current industry requirements and best practices. Both speakers underscored the importance of complementing advanced transportation equipment and technology with professional competency to ensure the safe, efficient, and seamless movement of over-dimensional (ODC) and overweight indivisible cargo across the globe. They emphasized that a combination of technical expertise, operational excellence, and specialized training is essential for meeting the challenges of the project logistics sector.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Shankar Ramalingam, Member – CII Institute of Logistics Advisory Council, who set the context for the course, emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in the logistics industry, and expressed his appreciation to HTOA for spearheading this valuable initiative.
Shri T.V. Vallinayagam, Subject Matter Expert, also addressed the participants. He extended his greetings and shared his insights on the growing need to build professional competencies and enhance industry expertise in the rapidly evolving logistics sector, underscoring the importance of continuous learning and skill development to meet emerging industry challenges.
The programme received an overwhelming response from logistics and transportation professionals across India, with all available seats filled well before the course began. This strong participation reflects the increasing demand for specialized education and skill development in the project cargo and heavy-lift logistics industry.
