The company plans to initially
strengthen its sales and customer-support presence through its UK subsidiary,
Maxwell Grid Transformers (UK) Private Ltd, before considering local assembly
and, eventually, full-scale manufacturing.
Managing Director and Chief Executive SatyenMamtora told businessline
that TARIL would consider investing in local manufacturing once annual order
volumes reach around 2,000–5,000 MVA from the UK, Europe and neighbouring
markets. “We would take that decision
on demand, not on expectation,” Mamtora said, underlining the company’s
cautious approach to overseas expansion.
The proposed move comes amid growing investment in electricity
transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy integration and rising
power demand across Europe, creating potential opportunities for transformer
manufacturers.
TARIL’s phased approach would
enable it to establish customer relationships and assess regional demand before
committing significant capital to local production. The company will proceed
with manufacturing plans only when the order pipeline is sufficient to support
the investment.
