Aligned with the
objectives of Maritime India Vision 2030 (MIV 2030) and Maritime Amrit Kaal
Vision 2047 (MAKV 2047), the initiative seeks to strengthen India’s
shipbuilding ecosystem through improved collaboration, transparency and access
to industry information. Naukosh is
expected to connect shipyards, ship repair service providers, regulators,
classification societies, shipowners, equipment suppliers, ancillary service
providers, financiers, insurers, training institutes and research organisations. The platform aims to provide industry
insights, investment opportunities, information on training programmes, and
access to financial assistance schemes and government incentives. By
facilitating connections among stakeholders, it is expected to support the
development and competitiveness of India’s shipbuilding and ship repair
sectors. Development of the portal is
currently underway. Maritime stakeholders will be invited to participate in the
initiative, provide feedback and create verified profiles to ensure that the
platform addresses the needs of the industry. Shri Pradeep Sudhakar, Chief Ship
Surveyor, has introduced Naukosh and outlined its vision for the future of
Indian shipbuilding.
The initiative
represents a step towards building a more connected maritime ecosystem and
strengthening India’s ambition to emerge as a globally competitive shipbuilding
and ship repair hub.
