Sarbananda Sonowal flags off CNG Road Sweeping Machines at V.O. Chidambaranar Port

The induction of these advanced, environment-friendly machines marks a major milestone in enhancing mechanised cleaning operations within the Port premises. Designed for high-efficiency sweeping, dust suppression, and debris collection, the CNG-powered machines will significantly improve cleanliness standards while reducing carbon emissions compared to conventional diesel-operated equipment.

Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister emphasised the importance of modernisation and mechanisation in ports across the country, reiterating the Ministry’s commitment to transforming Indian ports into globally competitive, environmentally responsible hubs under national maritime development initiatives…This initiative reflects V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority’s continuous efforts toward operational excellence, mechanisation, and sustainable infrastructure development.
