Cadets of IMU Navi Mumbai Campus Celebtrated International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day celebrated on 8th March, a special program was organised by the cadets of IMU NMC on 9th March 2026 to honour and celebrate the strength, achievements, and contributions of women.

The Women’s Day celebration commenced with an introduction by the emcee, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and a soulful Saraswati Vandana, marking an auspicious beginning to the event. Cadet Garima and Cadet Sudhi delivered a thoughtful message highlighting the importance, strength, and invaluable contributions of women in society. The audience was further entertained with vibrant cultural performances, including a lively Dholki performance by Cadet Tanvi Sharma and an energetic duo dance presented by the second and third-year girl cadets. A meaningful skit and the segment “Voices of Our Alumni” added depth to the celebration by sharing real-life experiences and insights about life at sea. The program continued with a band performance by the first-year cadets and an engaging group dance by the first-year girl cadets.

As part of the celebrations, a Kabaddi match among the girl cadets was held on 6th March 2026, where Team Agni competed against Team Tango Twisters, and Team Agni emerged victorious with an impressive performance. The Chief Guest for the program was Mrs. Manisha Umakant Jadhav, General Manager (Administration) and Secretary, JNPA, who has more than 30 years of rich work experience in the port sector. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Jadhav is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Port Management at the Indian Maritime University. Women from Karave Village were also invited to the celebration as special guests, making the occasion even more meaningful and inclusive.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, the National Anthem, and a group photo session with all the women, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring celebration.
