Chennai Port Achieves All-Time Record in Pig Iron Export Handling
Chennai Port has achieved an all-time record in the export of Pig Iron by handling 14,778 tons on a single day on 14.09.2026. The record shipment was executed through the vessel m.v. Supra Monarch at Jawahar Dock – VI, surpassing the previous record of 13,208 tons handled from m.v. Agia Charis on 30.07.2026.
This achievement highlights the operational efficiency and excellent coordination among all stakeholders involved in cargo handling operations at the Port.
Shri. Sachin S.Kurve, I.A.S., Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, congratulated and appreciated the synergy and teamwork exhibited by the Vessel Agent M/s. James Mackintosh Co. Pvt. Ltd., the Stevedore M/s. Shipscaargo and the exporter M/s. SLR Metaliks Ltd., for their dedicated efforts in achieving this milestone.
