Directorate General of Maritime Administration (DGMA), represented DGMA at the conclave and shared valuable
perspectives on the evolving role of technology and AI in strengthening
maritime administration, safety and operational efficiency.
The discussions
highlighted the growing potential of AI and digital technologies to transform
various aspects of the maritime industry, including regulatory processes,
safety management, operational decision-making and data-driven governance. The event also marked a moment of
recognition for Shri Shyam Jagannathan,
IAS, Director General of Maritime Administration (DGMA), who was
honoured as the Guest of Honour
at the conclave. With maritime
technology undergoing rapid transformation, the conclave underscored the
importance of effectively integrating AI, data analytics and digital governance
into the maritime ecosystem. Such technological advancements are expected to
play an increasingly important role in enhancing maritime safety, efficiency
and regulatory capabilities. The
conclave reaffirmed the need for continued collaboration among government
authorities, classification societies, technology providers and other maritime
stakeholders to harness emerging technologies and support the development of a
safer, smarter and future-ready maritime ecosystem for India.
