The service
connects Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India with Qingdao in China, while linking
Qingdao with the Indian Subcontinent through Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is designed
to support cargo movements across key Asian trading markets and provide
shippers with an additional option for transporting containerised goods. CIX 8 will operate with weekly sailings,
offering an estimated transit time of approximately 23 days from Nhava Sheva to
Qingdao. The regular service is expected to support shipment planning and
improve connectivity for businesses trading between India and China. The addition of CIX 8 expands Samudera’s
regional service network at a time when reliable intra-Asia shipping
connections remain important for exporters, importers and freight forwarders.
India–China trade flows include a wide range of manufactured goods, industrial
inputs and consumer products, creating demand for dependable container
transport services. The service also
incorporates Colombo as a connecting point, extending the network’s reach
across the Indian Subcontinent and providing an additional link between South
Asian and Chinese markets. For
shippers, the new service offers another routing option to consider when
planning cargo movements between western India and northern China. Transit
times, sailing schedules and available capacity will remain important factors
in selecting the most suitable service for individual shipments.
With the launch of
CIX 8, Samudera Shipping is expanding its regional coverage and reinforcing its
focus on connecting major Asian ports through scheduled container services.
