Operating under the
RCL Far East Tuticorin Service,
the new service is expected to enhance trade connectivity between Southern
India and key Asian markets, providing exporters and importers with improved
access to major commercial destinations across the Far East. The service rotation covers Qinzhou in China, Haiphong in Vietnam,
Tuticorin in India, Kattupalli in India and Chu Lai Port in Vietnam,
before returning to Qinzhou. The
introduction of the direct service is expected to improve transit efficiency,
strengthen regional cargo connectivity and create new opportunities for
businesses engaged in international trade. It also reflects the growing
importance of Tuticorin as a strategic maritime gateway for Southern India’s
export-import trade. DBGT stated that
the commencement of the service demonstrates the confidence of international
shipping lines in Tuticorin’s port infrastructure and operational capabilities.
The enhanced connectivity is expected to support the movement of regional cargo
and further strengthen trade links between India and the Far East. DBGT has acknowledged the cooperation of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, the
partnership of Regional Container Lines, and the continued support of its customers,
shipping partners and other stakeholders in facilitating the launch of the
service. The new connection further
reinforces DBGT’s commitment to expanding its service network, delivering
operational excellence and creating greater value for the shipping and trade
community.
With the launch of this direct Vietnam–China
service, Tuticorin is poised to strengthen its role as an important gateway for
international trade, supporting regional exporters, importers and the wider
logistics ecosystem.
