The projects cover multiple areas of railway infrastructure, including capacity augmentation, upgrades to existing assets and safety-related improvements. The initiatives are expected to support smoother train movement and improve the overall reliability of railway operations.    The infrastructure works will also help address operational bottlenecks on busy sections of the network and provide additional capacity to accommodate growing passenger and freight traffic.    Safety-related projects will focus on strengthening railway assets and improving operational safeguards, supporting Indian Railways’ continued efforts to reduce risks and enhance the reliability of its network.    The approvals form part of the national transporter’s broader programme to modernise railway infrastructure and improve network performance. Faster implementation of such projects is expected to contribute to more efficient movement of both passengers and freight across the country.      Indian Railways has continued to prioritise infrastructure expansion, capacity enhancement and safety upgrades as traffic volumes increase and the network undergoes ongoing modernisation.
