Blue Dart has launched International Parcel
Connect, a cross-border service for eligible business-to-consumer shipments
from India to the United States. Powered by DHL eCommerce, the offering
provides Standard and Expedited delivery options, targeting online sellers
seeking a shipping choice between premium express services and lower-cost
postal delivery. Blue Dart
International Parcel Connect has begun serving eligible shipments from India to
the United States, expanding the company’s offering for businesses selling
directly to overseas consumers.
Announced on 26 October 2026, the service targets e-commerce businesses,
direct-to-consumer brands, marketplace sellers, small and medium enterprises,
and emerging exporters. Blue Dart is
positioning the product between premium-priced express delivery and lower-cost
postal alternatives. The United
States is the initial destination market. Additional countries are planned,
although the company has not announced a detailed expansion timetable. International Parcel Connect combines Blue
Dart’s operations and customer support in India with DHL eCommerce’s
international parcel network.
Customers can select either Standard or Expedited delivery, depending on
their shipment requirements. The service also provides shipment visibility and
access to a customer support team in India.
Blue Dart managing director Balfour Manuel said the launch responds to
requests from customers seeking the company’s support for international
shipping. He described the product as a combination of its domestic operational
capabilities and the reach of its international network. The announcement did not specify
transit-time commitments, destination-level service standards or published
tariffs. Consequently, the difference between the two delivery options will
need to be assessed through the applicable service terms and quotations. The service supports eligible B2C parcels
weighing between 50 grams and 11 kilograms.
Product categories identified in the announcement include apparel,
fashion products, automobile spare parts, books, handicrafts, imitation
jewellery and rugs. Other qualifying marketplace and e-commerce products can
also be shipped. Acceptance remains
subject to customs, regulatory and commodity requirements, as well as weight
and dimensional restrictions. The stated weight range therefore does not mean
that every product within that range is automatically eligible. For exporters, checking product acceptance
and package specifications before booking will be important, particularly where
goods require additional documentation or face destination-market
restrictions. The range of categories
gives the service potential relevance to both established online brands and
smaller businesses selling specialised Indian products internationally. Blue Dart chief commercial officer
Dipanjan Banerjee said Indian sellers have often faced a choice between
relatively expensive express shipping and lower-cost postal services. He positioned International Parcel Connect
as an additional option, allowing businesses to select between two delivery
speeds while retaining shipment visibility and a local support contact. Banerjee estimated India’s B2C e-commerce
exports at approximately US$2 billion. The company did not identify the
reference period or methodology behind that estimate, which should be treated
as its assessment of the market. For
sellers, the commercial value of an additional shipping option will depend on
the relationship between delivery charges, product margins and the service
promised to the buyer. A time-sensitive
purchase may justify a faster service, while a less urgent order may allow more
flexibility. Offering different delivery options could help businesses
accommodate these varying requirements, subject to the actual pricing and
performance available. Blue Dart
plans to extend International Parcel Connect progressively to other
destinations, including the United Kingdom, European Union countries, Canada
and Australia. These markets remain
part of the proposed expansion rather than the initial launch coverage. The
company has not disclosed launch dates, country-specific eligibility or future
delivery arrangements. For Indian
online sellers, the immediate development is a new US-bound parcel service combining
domestic customer support with an international delivery network. Its adoption will depend on how
effectively the offering meets sellers’ practical requirements, including
shipment acceptance, delivery reliability, tracking and overall cost. The
availability of two service levels provides another choice as businesses
structure their overseas fulfilment
