CONCOR Launches New Domestic Rail Traffic Stream from Vallarpadam to Bihar

A full rake comprising 90 x 20-foot domestic containers carrying consignments of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) was dispatched from VPDP to FCON, Fatuha, Bihar.   The movement was successfully facilitated in coordination with the Trivandrum Division of Southern Railway.          The new rail service expands domestic cargo connectivity from Vallarpadam, enabling more efficient movement of containerised consignments from Kerala to destinations in the hinterland. The development is expected to further strengthen Vallarpadam’s position as a strategic multimodal logistics hub and support the shift of domestic freight to rail.      The commencement of the service also highlights the growing potential of Vallarpadam in connecting southern India with key consumption and industrial markets across the country through an integrated rail-based logistics network.
