The inclusion of
Southampton expands the service’s port coverage and offers exporters, importers
and freight forwarders another gateway for managing shipments through MSC’s
regional network. Southampton is one
of the UK’s key container ports, handling international cargo and supporting
supply chains serving businesses across southern England. Improved feeder
connectivity can help facilitate the movement of goods between major shipping
hubs and regional markets. For
logistics operators, changes to feeder service rotations can affect transit
planning, cargo connections and port selection. Customers using the revised
service should check MSC’s latest schedules and booking information to confirm
applicable port calls and sailing dates.
The addition highlights MSC’s ongoing adjustments to its regional feeder
network to support changing shipping requirements and improve connectivity
across UK and Irish trade routes. The
revised port rotation is Antwerp – Zeebrugge – Cork – Dublin – Le Havre – Southampton
– Antwerp. The service uses two container vessels with an average capacity of
around 1,500 TEUs each. Key
highlights: New port call:
Southampton, UK. Irish ports served:
Cork and Dublin. Belgian ports
served: Antwerp and Zeebrugge. French
port served: Le Havre. . And, Expected benefit: Direct feeder connectivity between
Southampton and the Irish ports of Cork and Dublin, giving shippers additional
routing options.
The change expands MSC’s North West Continent–Ireland feeder
service into the UK, improving regional container connectivity for exporters,
importers and freight forwarders. MSC has not announced a start date for the
revised rotation.
