The surcharge will take effect
from 26 August 2026 for most origins, while shipments originating in South
Korea will be subject to the PSS from 29 August 2026. The surcharge will remain
in effect until further notice. The PSS will be US$1,000 for all 20-foot
containers and US$1,200 for all 40-foot containers. A charge of US$1,200 will
also apply to 45-foot high-cube dry containers. The affected origins include China, Japan,
Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, the
Philippines, Brunei, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Timor-Leste. The surcharge will apply to non-SPOT
bookings and will be determined based on the applicable Price Calculation Date
(PCD). For non-FMC shipments, the PCD is based on the scheduled departure date
of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation. For FMC-regulated
shipments, Maersk will use the last container gate-in date.
SPOT bookings will not be subject to the new PSS.
